Google’s new area headquarters in Austin, TX, will offer spectacular skyline views. With Shoal Creek to the west and the Colorado River to the south, this iconic building with glass walls will be shaped with a sweeping sail-like curve – eternally catching a breeze from the nearby Lady Bird Lake.
Complex geometry and radiused components have made it an epic modeling challenge. When completed, Block 185 will rise to 594 feet, making it the fourth tallest office tower in downtown Austin. Google employees and guests will enjoy an unrestricted 180-degree view from each floor of this 35-story tower.
The 793,000-square-foot building is slated for completion in July 2022. It has a LEED Gold objective.
Block 185 will have many features that set it apart, including:
- An entrance just steps from a scenic biking and walking trail on Shoal Creek
- Ample cafes and dining venues
- Landscaped terraces at every level
- A fitness and wellness center and recreation areas
- A bar/tavern and lounges
- A 1,400-plus stall parking structure with five levels below grade and seven above
