PURPLE XP drywall nominated for the coolest thing made in NC
Online competition from the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce will name the “Coolest Thing Made in NC”
Did you know that one of the coolest products in North Carolina is based in Charlotte?
The NC Chamber of Commerce announced that PURPLE XP® drywall is among the 80 products nominated for its annual “Coolest Thing Made in NC” online competition.
PURPLE XP drywall was designed in Charlotte and is manufactured by Gold Bond Building Product, LLC plants in Mt. Holly, NC and Wilmington, NC in addition to 16 other locations in the United States. It’s used across the country for commercial buildings, schools, healthcare systems, homes and more. In fact, you have probably seen PURPLE XP. When you pass a building or home under construction that is clad in a distinct purple board, that’s us.
So why is this drywall product so cool?
First, it is the only drywall on the market that is not only fire-resistant but is also resistant to moisture, mold, and mildew. It also stands up to scratches, scuffs, dents and sound (ask parents living with kids during the quarantine if that’s “cool” – we bet they say yes!). It has earned the highest possible scores on industry quality tests, providing extra protection and peace of mind for those living, working and playing inside.
Second, Purple XP drywall was designed with the environment in mind. The product is manufactured to achieve UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification, the most stringent standard for indoor air quality in the United States, and helps homeowners, contractors and architects meet the demands of green programs and credits such as LEED.
Third, designed and manufactured in North Carolina with the environment and community in mind, PURPLE XP drywall is one of the premier building products in the United States and creates jobs for people throughout North America. Now, THAT is cool.
Know what would be even cooler? Winning the competition. And you can help!
Please vote today for PURPLE XP drywall. You can also vote each day up to September 2. The 10 semifinalists for each category will be announced on September 8. The field of candidates will narrow with each round of voting, and the winning products will be revealed on October 6, the day prior to National Manufacturing Day (MFG).
FYI, PURPLE XP drywall is manufactured by Gold Bond Building Products, LLC, an affiliate of National Gypsum Company, which is headquartered in the SouthPark neighborhood in Charlotte. Cool, right?
