Veterans Tour Mt. Holly

Transitioning to civilian life after serving in the military can be difficult for service members. However, the Heroes MAKE America program has stepped in to make the process easier for veterans by connecting them with companies. In the spirit of giving back and supporting our service members, National Gypsum has collaborated with the program to host tours and information sessions on careers with the Company.

Mt. Holly Plant Manager Rick Smith helped arrange the June tour. As a veteran, Smith knows first-hand the challenges military members face when they leave the service. “It can be a bit overwhelming once reality hits and it is time to move on,” said Smith. With that in mind, Smith was eager to host the Ft. Bragg unit. “It was a great opportunity to showcase our plant and company to our transitioning veterans who have made great sacrifices for both their families and country."

Due to the success of the inaugural tour, the Company hopes to host tours and information sessions at other plant locations.
