For certain applications, architects and owners are looking for advanced wall technologies to address extreme conditions. That's why National Gypsum has introduced two new product extensions to provide superior protection in tough environments.
The company has enhanced the performance e2XP® Interior Extreme Gypsum Panels to offer Interior Extreme AR (Abuse Resistant) Gypsum Board. This panel offers abrasion, indention, mold and moisture resistance.
Depending on the application, customers may also want further impact protection with Interior Extreme IR (Impact Resistant) board. This product has the same enhancements as AR plus a fiberglass mesh reinforcement to prevent penetration through the wall.

new products. The US Army Corps of Engineers selected Interior Extreme IR for a major barracks construction project at Fort Drum, NY. Similarly, the engineers selected the product for barracks and an administrative building for Warriors in Transition at Fort Eustis, VA.
In another military application, the engineers selected Interior Extreme AR for the new barracks construction project at Camp Lejeune, NC. Emmanuel College will use the material for its new athletic center.
Fiberglass-faced e2XP Interior Extreme AR and IR complement National Gypsum's paper-faced XP® Hi-Abuse and Hi-Impact. All four products offer mold and moisture resistance plus enhanced abuse and impact resistance.
